Community Support - Upland Host Lions Club Annual Fish Bake

When we live, work and play in our communities, it is important to support others who do the same. That might be part of a definition of the word COMMUNITY. The Lions Clubs set a great example of supporting communities world wide, and now is time to support what they do.

The Anual Upland Host Lions FISH BAKE AND CORN FEED.

When: Friday, August 6th, 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.

Where: Upland Memorial Park on famous Route 66, Upland, California.

Adults: $14.00 - Chuldren (under 12) $7.00

Other Donations Accepted - Bring your old eyeglasses to donate too!

All of the proceeds will be used to support Local organizations. Last year the Upland Host Lions Club gave financial support to 18 local organizations, sponsoring the Upland Boy Scouts #614, Upland YMCA, Foothill Family Shelter, the House of Ruth, Southern California Eye Institute, The Braille Institute and many others.

Their recognized objective is to "furnish free eye examinations and glasses for school children in the City of Upland who are referred to the Lions by the school nurses." Dozens of referrals were funded by the Upland Host Lions this last year. These children have had their lives improved and educations enhanced because they got great eye care.

Believe me, I know how important that simple improvement can be. Being the tallest kid in the class, guess where the teachers sat me... In the back. When a teacher recognized that I was not getting the lessons because I could not read the blackboard way up front, things changed. Not everyone is as fortunate as I was, so the Lions Club lends a helping hand.

The Upland Host Lions Club work is supported by this main annual event. Won't you help by attending this GREAT EVENT?
