In years past, SoCal real estate has seen many trends, style changes and even fads that have captured the interests of the buying public. Protection of the environment just is not getting the same press here that it gets in the Pacific Northwest. Maybe it's the desert climate. Maybe it's because our plant life generally requires lots of water (at great expense and effort) to achieve the lushness natural to Washington and Oregon. Maybe it's the abundance of tall, green trees at every turn that reminds PNW residents of their stewardship of the environment. Who knows why GREEN IS SEXIER up north.
