It doesn't really matter to the home seller or the buyer what is being portrayed in the press if what's happening in the chosen neighborhood is different. Lately, the local statistics have reflected exactly what is happening in the rest of the state, at least price wise. Locally, home prices have fallen about 4% in May, the supply of homes available for sale is very low especially in the price ranges for the first time buyer, and it is taking longer to sell the homes that are closing.
The bright spot is that Pending sales are up significantly. The hope is that this will carry through to closings and signal an improvement as we move into the summer when relocating families move in time for the start of the next school year..
