The Upland Host Lions Say Thank You to the Community
The 57th "Fish, Steak and Corn Feed" is history and to say that it was a success is an understatement. Again, the community turned out to support the Upland Host Lions Club in their efforts to raise funds for Upland students in need of eye exams and glasses as well as other support groups serving the local community. The real trick was to do this and still provide all that came with fun, friendship, entertainment and great food.
Supporting this event in various ways were the City of Upland, CA whose park and facilities are recognized as the perfect location for this event. We received welcome support with mentions in the "Upland Today" magazine and Mayor Ray Musser's e-mail newsletter "The Upland Insider" and the local newspapers with the help of Suzanne Sproul. Many Local businesses answered the call with sponsorships and all get our heart felt thanks.... we recognize that it is not easy to charitable in hard times.
Even though hard work comes with the territory, and my fellow Lions do not expect to be recognized, I was personally gratified to see so many working for so many weeks to make so much happen for others.
